We hope you had a pleasant Chuseok and are enjoying the remainder of the holidays. Our Club has been invited to Gwangju City from Oct.23 to 24.
Jeongho's officer friend working for the local government suggested that we join Kimchi festival and traditional performance in the city staying at a hanok(Korean traditional house). They will provide accommodation and meals free, so we can enjoy the trip only with traffic fare. If you are interested, please reply to this mail. This trip is organized for expats only. The following are the details of the trip:
We are going to meet at Seoul Station and at 6:50 a.m. and leave Seoul on Saturday, and be back by around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in a chartered bus. We'll move to Gwangju and attend the Kimchi festival in the morning and the traditional music performance in the afternoon. And we'll stay overnight at a traditional Korean house(=Hanok) and enjoy a light hiking at Mudeungsan. The hiking will not be tough--we'll just walk along the roundabout trails used as the path connecting villages around the foot of the mountain.
The deadline to sign up for this event is Thursday, October 8, and the participation fee is KRW55,000 covering transportation and insurance, and free accommodation meals are to be provided with the aid of the local government wanting to be known to expats living here. This city produces many art celebrities and are very famous for delicious food. We have space for only 30 people, and kindly ask for your cooperation to sign up as soon as possible.
