This coming Saturday, September 18th, we will go for a hike along the Dullegil path on Bukhansan, a trail along the foot of Bukhansan National Park in north Seoul. We are going to start from Uiryeong and hike towards the trail of White Cloud(흰구름길) passing old pine wood.
Dullegil path has recently gone through repairs to become a long, relaxing trail that covers the whole area at the foot of Bukhansan National Park, and it includes some historical sites, and has been the locals' favorite area to go for a walk.
Close to the residential areas in distance, the narrow paths of the trail permit hikers to enjoy the natural and cultural heritage Koreans have cherished from the past.
How to get there: Blue Line 4, Suyu subway station
Where we meet: Inside Suyu Station towards Exit 3
When: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010
What we will do: Move to Uidong by bus. Hike around Bukhansan Dullegil and have a meal together afterwards
Level of difficulty: 4 out of 10
Duration of hiking: 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Hike for three to four hours, depending on the group's hiking ability covering about 5 and a half kilometers)
Fee: W10,000-20.000 (Includes a Korean meal after the hike; Doesn't include drinks.)
If you plan to attend, please RSVP to this mail before 10p.m. Friday night, so we can have an idea how many people to expect. Call Jeong-ho Park at 016-246-9261 if you are considerably delayed Saturday morning. Please wear proper hiking footwear and bring a raincoat or an umbrella in case of rain.
Cancellation policy: We will not cancel the hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and try to arrange an alternative activity (likely a long walk) if hiking is not possible. You are, of course, not obligated to follow the changed itinerary.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for good weather.
