This coming Saturday, September 11th, we will go for a hike on Gwanaksan in the south of Seoul starting from Gwacheon Station and declining in the direction of Seoul National University campus. Gwanaksan is one of the most challenging mountains in Seoul area, but not very difficult if you have been hiking with us on regular basis for the last couple of months.
How to get there: Blue Line 4, Gwacheon subway station (#438)
Where we meet: Inside Gwacheon Station near benches towards Exit 7
When: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010
What we will do: Hike on Gwanaksan and have a meal afterwards
Level of difficulty*: 7 out of 10
Duration of hiking: 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Hike for five to six hours, depending on the group's hiking ability)
Fee: W10,000-20.000 (Includes a Korean meal after the hike; Doesn't include drinks.)
If you plan to attend, please RSVP to this mail before 10p.m. Friday night, so we can have an idea how many people to expect. Call Hank Chay at 010-8423-0123 if you are considerably delayed Saturday morning. Please wear proper hiking footwear and bring a raincoat or an umbrella in case it rains.
Cancellation policy: We will not cancel the hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and try to arrange an alternative activity (likely a long walk) if hiking is not possible. You are, of course, not obligated to follow the changed itinerary.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for good weather.
Cheers!
