This Saturday, August 14th, we will be hiking Gureumsan (Cloud Mountain) located in Gwangmyeong City to the southwest of Seoul. Although this mountain is small, it is the favorite mountain of Gwangmyeong citizens as it has splendid views. The trail will be a fairly easy one, but you should be prepared for possible weather conditions.
How to get there: Line 1, Gaebong Station (st# 143)
Where we meet: Near the ticket window inside Gaebong subway station
When: 11a.m., Saturday, August 14th, 2010
What we will do: Take a bus for about 15min to Gwangmyeong Bogeonso(Gwangmyeong City-run medical center), hike on Gureumsan, then have a meal somewhere in the neighbourhood afterwards.
Cost: Each person will pay for their own meal.
* If you plan to attend, please email sihclub@gmail.com. so we have an idea of how many people would come. Try to be on time, but if you are running considerably late (like over 15 minutes), please call or text Hank Chay at 010-8423-0123.
* New comers are requested to provide us with your basic contact information (such as work/cell phone numbers, working place, nationality, etc.) beforehand in the event of emergency.
* We recommend that you:
--wear proper hiking shoes
--pack the stuff in a plastic (ziploc) bag for a range of possible weather conditions--raincoat, waterproof hiking jacket, extra pair of
socks, T-shirt, etc.
--bring some light snacks (like sandwiches and fruits) for your lunch and a bottle of mineral water to drink during your hike.
* Cancellation policy: We do not cancel hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and try to arrange an alternative activity (likely going on a safer walk) if the majority of the group agrees that hiking is not possible. You are, of course, not obligated to follow the changed schedule.
Thank you for your interest^_^
