This Saturday, July 31st, we are going on a hike along a cool stream at the Paekun valley in Pocheon. We'll go to Pocheon in private vehicles from Changdong station line 1 or Line 4. The trail stretches about 10 kilometers long and has a lot of small ponds and some waterfalls. We'll start at 10:30 from Changdong station. If you want to join this hiking, reserve a seat until this Friday noon. The hike will take about three and half hour including rest and lunch time covering some part of the trail.
How to get there: Line 1 or 4, Changdong Station
Where to meet: Just out of exit 1 Changdong Station
When: 10:30 am, Saturday, July 31st, 2010
What we will do: We will walk along the stream in the mountain and take a rest in or by the stream. Prepare another wear and bring your own lunch.
Fee: 35,000won (traffic and lunch)
* If you plan to attend, please RSVP to this mail so we can have an idea of how many people would come. Please be on time,
but if you are running considerably late (like over 15 minutes), please call or text Jeong-ho Park at 016-246-9261.
* New comers are requested to provide us with your basic contact information (such as work/cell phone numbers, working place, nationality, etc.) beforehand in the event of emergency.
* We recommend that you:
--wear proper hiking shoes
--pack the stuff in a plastic (ziploc) bag for a range of possible weather conditions--raincoat, waterproof hiking jacket, extra pair of
socks, T-shirt, etc.
--bring some light snacks (like sandwiches and fruits) for your lunch and a bottle of mineral water to drink during your hike.
* Cancellation policy: We do not cancel hikes due to inclement weather. Coordinators of the hikes will go to the meeting place and try to arrange an alternative activity (likely going on a safer walk) if the majority of the group agrees that hiking is not possible. You are, of course, not obligated to follow the changed schedule.
Thank you for your interest^_^
